Heard somebody on somewhere talking about homelessness, and the topic shifted to Japan. I recall that the person stated that there was no homeless problem there. I'm calling bullpuck on that. Every civilized society has a homeless proclamation. Now Japan may have addressed the issue with mental health preparedness, resources, etc., but to say that there is no problem there is a stretch, to say the least.

Every civilized society has a homeless proclamation. Now Japan may have addressed the issue with mental health preparedness, resources, etc., but to say that there is no problem there is a stretch, to say the least. Homelessness comes exist because of a few different reason. Mental issues, often among veterans. Substance abuse. Cannot afford housing, lack of jobs etc, as cities are gentrified or there's lack of additional affordable housing. Generally no one wants to be unhoused. So the prevalence of homelessness in a country like Japan is most likely not as severe as over here. Right now there's a glut of housing in Japan, largely due to the fact that abandoning of housing as the population age and shrink. They are experienced a net reduction in population at the moment. They're also adding more housing with smaller apartments. They also have some of the best healthcare in the world. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homelessness_in_Japan#:~:text=at%20692%20people.-,Support,is%20also%20provided%20in%20Yokohama. Some of this data is of course a little older, but the actual homeless population seems miniscule in comparison to the issue we're seeing here

Given that the Judge seems pretty unimpressed by Trump and his team of morons, well see if this leads to something. I'm hoping for sanctions. Make it hurt financially.

As a wee first grader Judge Chutkan remembers telling classmates how much she disliked Trump… I like the nonsensical Trump cast a vision of 2024 and beyond. Anyone that listens to his speech notices that it is only a bunch of idiotic grievances. No vision.

One thing to note is that Jordan has performed a heroic feat of absorbing refugees in the 21st century particularly from neighboring Iraq and Syria. As a result, their population has more than doubled in under 25 years: 5M in 2000 to 11.5M in 2023. I'm not going to spend much time criticizing them for not being willing to take refugees from a region they share no borders with. They've done more than their fair share (I'd be a little more critical if it was the West Bank with whom they are the only non-Israeli border)

FL mentioned a few reasons, but there's also another; these refugees will never be able to return once any other Arab state takes them in. The Israeli state has systematically reduced Palestinian territories as part of the many wars and conflicts - with the original Nakba that displaced some 1 million Palestinians (originally 700k, but by the 60's it was over 1000000) from their homes in 1948, starting with a systematic campaign that reduced Palestinian villages to rubble, forcing many of them to flee to countries like Egypt etc. Non of them have been allowed to come back. There's a reason why 50% of the population in Gaza are Children. Not just starvation and stolen land, but also systematic refusal for anyone to return. It has therefor fallen on the surrounding nations to absorb these refugees, knowing full well that Israel will never let them back. Once expelled, they will stay where they flee and Israel will continue to absorb that land. As they've done since 1948. If I was a sovereign state in the area, probably dealing with your own internal issues like Jordan, I would refuse to become Israel's dumping ground. Because it is not like Israel will financially compensate you in anyways.

The ongoing drama in England. True or not, it is on par with how Trump acts, to burn intelligence assets in the process of addressing his usual grievance.

Wonder if it will be more or less holdouts than McCarthy had in January.

Jordan gets 200 of 220 Republican votes cast. One Jordan supporter is attending a funeral. Jordan tied McCarthy's worst position during his Speakership run for number of lost votes. The Democrats remain unified.

The landlord who murdered the 6 year old American Palestinian boy had been listening to rightwing nonsense Media and thought that the tenant was going to call her Palestinian friends in Gaza(?) to come and get him. He believed in that BS story about a 'Internation day of Jihad' That rightwingers said was going to take place on October 13, and when nothing happened, he convinced himself that it would happen any day now. And instead murdered the boy and tried to murder his mom. The red thread that connect these lunatics is that most of them listen to rightwing media.
