Dear stupid fucking journalist. Judge Engoron did not REFUSE the request by Trump to let him speak. Engoron said he could as long as he followed the rules that were laid out. Traditionally people can't when they have legal counsel, but the Judge was going to allow it as long as Trump would follow the same rules everyone else has too. That was always true. And since Trump refused to, Engoron said he couldn't speak. At closing argument Trump asked he if he could address the court and Engoron asked again, are you going to follow the rules, and Trump being the nasty asshole he is, just ignored that, started ranting, ran out of steam and stormed out and then ended up somewhere, where he and Abbas made fools out of themselves with their BS.
At no point did Judge Engoron refuse him to speak. He just couldn't use the time to rant and BS.
I fucking hate lazy journalism.

So on the Alaska Airlines plane, the bolts just may not have been installed. Not that they failed or were loose or there was a design flaw, there was such a gigantic gap in production and QA that nobody installed and nobody noticed the failure to install.

Side note: Alaska Airlines reported that they had noted pressurization issues in that plane on multiple occasions to the point that they concluded the best course of action was to bar it from overseas flights. Some are arguing that they should've ground the plane entirely. This is an utter failure of understanding. A pressurization issue may be a cracked seal somewhere that needs to be shored up but doesn't necessarily indicate a risk of pending catastrophic failure. It is possible to have a leak that doesn't result in the entire plane disintegrating. They were taking a reasonable precaution of "we want to ensure the plane can get on the ground in 30 minutes in case of a problem" because they weren't expecting a scenario that would rip an entire seat out of the fuselage....
Also, flying the plane at less than 100% condition is not as abnormal as some people think and it's generally not an issue. There's giant books on what does and doesn't constitute an airworthy plane and what the possible risk factors are. This is like, I don't know, a partially deflated tire. Yes, it's not great and it could be a sign of a bigger problem but is it serious enough to switch to a spare or are you going to try refilling it at the gas station and monitor the potential slow leak until you can get it into the shop?

US led airstrikes against as many as 60 targets in Yemen. 5 dead, 6 wounded. UK, Canada, Australia, Netherlands and Bahrain participated in the attacks apnews.com/article/yemen-houthis-us-ship-attacks-bombing-red-sea-iran-cc06d9186a00d1f22bea6b9c14dda12aStrikes are in response to a series of attacks by Houthi Rebels against primarily commercial shipping in the Red Sea. Patrols by various nations have thus far been extremely successful at intercepting these attacks. There are plenty of reasons to assume that these are proxy attacks by Iran meant to basically vent about US blocking Iran from stopping Gaza being turned into the parking lot that right wingers keep proposing as the solution to every problem in the Middle East.

So strange that these attacks didn't lead to hundreds dead using 2000 pound dumb bombs. It is almost like they're targeted strikes.

Modi went to an Indian island to promote it for tourism reasons. The Maldives, who are in the middle of a campaign to strengthen their ties with China and reduce their ties with India, took such offense to it that 3 MINISTERS got suspended from TPFKAT (The Platform Formerly Known as Twitter) www.cbc.ca/news/world/beach-visit-modi-maldives-1.7081662India is the #1 contributor of tourists to the island chain....

Somebody should get fired on principle. That person needs to be at least a Director if not a VP. Oh, I'm sure the mistake was made by a line worker but humans make mistakes. Systems are made higher up the chain and systems exist to protect us from mistakes. Some Director or VP thought some part of the system was redundant and removed it and because they removed it, mistakes made by a line worker were not caught and the line worker educated on how to avoid them. BTW: Alaska indicates that it had found several instances of loose bolts in other inspections that they performed. The problem is clearly systemic.

So Israel's weak defense against genocide was to present a case of vengeance for those that Hamas killed and to accuse others of committing genocide against them.
They still don't fucking get it. Against them are the actual words of their own politicians and the collected body of absolute over violence on their part.
And they're dumb enough to present the case that Hamas committed atrocities while not addressing why they are then targeting Palestinians et large. In fact the only thing they managed to present was a case of righteous vengeance, not one of metered response. And in making the case that Israel is victim of genocide, they implied South Africa is complicit in it because they have close relationship to Palestinians due to their shared suffering under Apartheid.
90+ murdered Palestinians so far. More dying from starvation and disease. And the official word from Israeli's officials that it is exactly what they want.
And in return? Pity poor us, we're just killing them all because Hamas hurt us.

Netty is. In fact their whole rightwing lunatic government is leading them down the wrong path. But when you watch their argument for why they're not committing genocide you realize that most of them are entirely blind to their BS. In fact their legal teams argument was so fundamentally garbage. No evidence, just a bunch of whining and grievance. Meanwhile South Africa presented all the evidence up to date. But that is what happens when you're lead by a sociopath like Netty. Most Israelis don't even know just of terrible their government actions are in Gaza.
