In the months leading up to the midterm elections, Comer also helped take the lead trying to defend Donald Trump from questions surrounding the former president’s classified documents scandal. The materials Trump took, Comer said, “didn’t amount to a hill of beans.” The Kentuckian added soon after that, as far as he was concerned, the former president didn’t “intend to take anything that he wasn’t supposed to take.”
One day people will look at this blatant attempt to cover for a lying, criminally corrupt Blob and shake their heads about why some people loved him.

It is a good question - why is one case collateral damage and the other not?

Unnamed player sues the Chicago Blackhawks saying that he, too, was sexually abused by then-video coach Brad Aldritch during the 2010 Stanley Cup run and that the team failed to act appropriately. This is the same man that Kyle Beach accused 2 years ago and in the same timeframe www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/nhl/chicago-nhl-team-lawsuit-sexual-assault-allegation-1.7019493IIRC: the Blackhawks's internal investigation indicated that additional victims had been identified but not named.

Keep in mind, the whole thing in this trial is that papa Trump IS NOT INVOLVED. In fact none of the people who can sign off on paperwork are involved. They just blindly trust anyone below them and sign off, without responsibility mind you, of anything. And plus - there's a disclaimer per Trump, WHO IS NOT INVOLVED IN ANYTHING, that you can't take the contract for what it is worth.
Now during his time on the stand, he was asked why he decided to drop the value of one of his properties, called Seven springs. And he said, he thought it was over valued. Again, TRUMP IS NOT INVOLVED. He has nothing to do with the process of determining the value of anything....yet....

LOL, Trump in a statement was confronted by the fact that he had contractually signed that one of his properties was considered a forever property in respect to commercial property in order to get favorably taxes. He was even shown a video where he state that, but the dumbfuck then claimed he could change his mind anytime.
That's not how contract works.
Big Brain.

Because Trump doesn't say "make my net worth 6B", he says "I feel like my net worth is 6B" and then expects the little people to go out and make it 6B. They commit all the fraud and he just expects it to be done without actually issuing an order to that effect. It's the total mob boss way of giving orders without giving orders to decrease liability which is why his boys can pretend with a straight face that they made no decisions. The bag lives with the little guy Well, the little guys are lawyers and CFOs and what not, but the power dynamic is the same here. (Though with Trump getting kicked out of the trial and a negative inference being defaulted to, the Judge is now free to assume that Trump knowingly ordered the fraud)

I think the headline got changed to almost kicked out of court. It is possible that they decided to take a break before it came to that point. But it also seems that he has admitted to being involved in determining value of property and signing off on it. Trump is always his worst enemy.

Theory I'm seeing behind Biden's recent poll drop: Israel. Especially since there is a massive generational divide on the left over the issue.
It's unlikely they're actually going to Trump but that a greater percentage of the left deciding to sit the election out....

It's unlikely they're actually going to Trump but that a greater percentage of the left deciding to sit the election out.... I just don't understand why Biden keep blundering on this. We're at the stage of this conflict where there's no question about how absolutely wrong Israel is. In UK they are pressuring Starmer to step down and labor is about to trounce the conservatives. It has been some of the most baffling reactions to what is an unmitigated disaster in Israel. I get the strong reaction to the initial Hamas attack. But through Israeli official statements and the ugly unrelenting meatgrinder and clear atrocities from Israel, the slow and weak reaction from this administration has destroyed whatever little he had gained among young adults, who clearly wasn't in the tank for him, but at least understood why they were voting. Labor will vote with Biden, but he is losing not only independents and young adults in droves, but Palestinians in important battleground states like Michigan. This is easy shit for Trump; he is absolutely in the tank for Israel. He doesn't even have to pretend to show any sympathy for the dead. All he keep saying is that if he was the Prez, this would never happen. I just don't get it. Biden seems to be a savvy politician. And he surrounds himself with smart people, but they're so fucking stupid in this case. His jello response to 10k Palestinian dead has been some of the weakest shit I've heard in ages. To the point that Obama is actually coming out and doing the kind of thing Biden should have done from day one when Israel turned it all into a blood bath.

Because the older Democrats and more moderate Democrats are exactly where Biden's position is. My Twitter feed is mostly Democrats and there are some who are still harping about the evils of Hamas constantly and focusing on those tearing down the posters of the missing and there are some like who are highlighting the barbarity of Israel's response. While I think your argument is fair from an ethical stand point but from a political stand point, Biden's fucked in every direction. So he's defaulting to the status quo and the position that America has had for the last 50 years under both Democrats and Republicans and hoping that Trump will scare the young people back into his camp by the time the next election comes around.

Yeah, that is so dumb. If Biden banks on Gen Z to be scared into voting for him then he is either an idiot, or he's advised by idiots. We haven't been in politics like usual for a decade now. And the sooner we get out of that idiot stand, we can finally get shit done.
