One MSNBC pundit says that SCOTUS will overturn the Colorado Supreme Court ruling regarding the 14th Amendment. If so, then it would mean that the majority doesn't believe Blob started a coup. Which I would find hard to stomach.

One MSNBC pundit says that SCOTUS will overturn the Colorado Supreme Court ruling regarding the 14th Amendment. If so, then it would mean that the majority doesn't believe Blob started a coup. Which I would find hard to stomach. There's so many process issues that a 9-0 overturn is not impossible to imagine. He's not been convicted by a jury of any crime, there's some crimes that explicitly include "ineligible to run for federal office" as their penalties (none of which he's been charged with) which could be argued as the actual actionable element of 14S3, and then there's the Minnesota ruling of "14S3 doesn't cover the Presidency" (which, annoyingly, has legitimacy in democratic theory as, unlike a rebellious district scenario, is an election by the entirety of the population). Honestly, if this were *just* about whether they believed he attempted a coup, I think this would end 8-1 or 7-2 against Trump. But with the breadth of process issues, my assumption is that it will be thrown out.

The 3 crucial words missing in Trump ballot case (Snip) …But proving insurrection or rebellion is a much higher standard than our Constitution requires. That’s because the 14th Amendment prohibition also applies to anyone who gave “aid or comfort” to rebels and insurrectionists. That Trump gave aid and comfort to the coup attempt is indisputable. For more than three hours, Trump did nothing to stop the mob sacking our Capitol, shouting “hang Mike Pence,” calling for the murder of Speaker Nancy Pelosi and injuring 150 police officers in his failed attempt to overthrow our government. Trump didn’t call on federal law enforcement or summon readily available National Guard troops. Instead, Trump “gleefully” watched the attack on television in a room just off the Oval Office. Stephanie Grisham, the White House press secretary, testified that he even rewound some scenes of violence that he considered especially gratifying. Because appeals deal with issues raised in lower courts — not issues that could have been or should have been raised — the U.S. Supreme Court is unlikely to examine the “aid or comfort” standard. www.rawstory.com/3-crucial-words-missing-in-trump-ballot-case/

Seattle moves forward with restitution to the tune of 40 million to citizens in the state, due to price fixing among tuna and chicken producers.
Strong advocacy and representation works, if people have the will to make it happen. As the settlement shows and proves, they were caught red handed. I think all states should squeeze the behavior of greedy companies that have used the pandemic, different crisis and higher inflation to price gouge people.
As we discussed before, this price fixing happened within egg and poultry, where some of the largest producers didn't suffer either from avian flue or was impacted that much by higher inflation, but decided to price gouge consumers anyways. Red states won't do anything of course, but there is a reason why GOP always argue for the most competent government response on all levels. Because it benefits the ultra rich.

Guts, for sure.
But here's the bigger picture.
These are people who will hide behind free speech, plotting to destroy free speech for the rest of us.

Never mind the commentary.
But geez. This guy clearly nailed her with great words. In a world where that mattered she'd be toast. She a scumbag. And should not ever be in a position of authority. Shes a self serving moralist that tells everyone else how to live their lives, but cannot live up to even the most modest standard.
I hope her kids grow up to realize what a fucking hypocrite she is.
