Why not just, yknow, vote to end Brexit?? They literally can't. They're in the stage between having finalized the divorce and still fighting over custody of kids and you're asking them to cancel the divorce. They could get remarried but that's going to require a brand new prenup and the EU is not interested in being generous in the prenup.

And America should just pass Universal Health Care but the losers from that system find their way to come up and they find one page of a 2000 page document to completely misrepresent to talk about something that has nothing to do with anything and stupid shit happens such as them still claiming that one page was passed when it was actually cut not because it was bad but because it was so stupidly discredited. The EU is far more interested in the UK returning to the EU than the UK is interested in returning. While a plurality support returning, its yet to be a majority - and frankly, I maintain my belief that you should have a sizeable majority for such a major change since people's opinion is fluid (which is well represented by how stupid Brexit went). There's a non-zero cost to rejoining and while the UK will benefit in the long run, the reality is that businesses have already adapted to the post-Brexit world and change is expensive in the short term so they're going to be hesitant. Throw in that the UK has consistently balked at various proposals of the EU that are consistent with, say, a Swiss partnership which is less onerous than what the UK would have to accept to rejoin the EU entirely, I have no reason to assume that the political will is there to return.

I can't for a minute understand why Trump think that UAW would endorse him over Biden. The fuckhead went to a non union shops during the big showdown, pretending he was talking to union labor and Biden showed up on the picket line and have through his admin helped labor, for most part, in major ways.
But Trump is apparently upset. He's either complete brain fried or so up in his own ass that he think any labor organization would endorse him in any way - unless it is the police union, those fuckers are sociopaths.

Speaking of EU Brussels threatens to hit Hungary's economy if Orban vetoes Ukraine aid - FT Jan 29 (Reuters) - The European Union will sabotage Hungary's economy if Budapest blocks fresh aid to Ukraine at a summit this week, under a confidential plan drawn up by Brussels, the Financial Times reported on Sunday. Brussels has outlined a strategy to explicitly target Hungary's economic weaknesses, imperil its currency and drive a collapse in investor confidence in a bid to hurt "jobs and growth" if Budapest refuses to lift its veto on the aid to Kyiv, the newspaper reported, citing a document drawn up by EU officials... www.reuters.com/world/europe/brussels-threatens-hit-hungarys-economy-if-orban-vetoes-ukraine-aid-ft-2024-01-29/

America should indeed have UHC, but that's different than having it and then canceling it, then wanting it back again. And IIRC Brexit was only a referendum, not a mandate - yet here we (i.e., they) are.

You only violate a referendum if you conclude that there's a logistical problem but the line for that was back during the exit deal. It would be considered a gross violation of the mandate to do anything other than proceed. It's worth noting that neither the governing nor opposition party ran on reversing that mandate in the most recent election. And no, when you rip down the infrastructure, you start from scratch. The UK is starting from scratch.

Pretty sure alienating her fans will work out well for them. This kind of stupidity defines the magat cult better than anything else I guess. Ego-bruised Trump insists to aides he's 'more popular' than Taylor Swift: report Donald Trump's allies are already preparing a "holy war" against pop superstar Taylor Swift if she endorses President Joe Biden⌠www.rawstory.com/taylor-swift-donald-trump/

The identities of the 5 hockey players asked to surrender have been confirmed (or rather, the 4 who have yet to surrender have been confirmed, the other was confirmed when he surrendered). There are no surprises.
