Before you read this: what do you think the going rate of an assassin is? Rubles seem to spend more in-country 🤷🏾‍♂️

Before you read this: what do you think the going rate of an assassin is? Rubles seem to spend more in-country 🤷🏾‍♂️ If we use GDP per capita, Russia seems to be 1/6 the US which would suggest that this would be the equivalent of 24K. That's a little closer to plausible but still...

I'm hesitant about involuntary manslaughter for parents of school shooters.... but this is a pretty solid case for "she fucking deserves jail time"
Whatever else she is, she was an abusive and neglectful mother who did not care about her son's well being. End of story. Whether or not she deserves to go to jail for her son's actions, she deserves to go to jail for what she did to her son.

Dirty Secret “You can’t grow like this with just the native workforce. It’s not possible,” says Pia Orrenius, vice president and senior economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. The Washington Post’s online front page this morning blares that immigration is fueling the “roaring” U.S. economy. And you thought there was a border crisis, a crisis hyped by Republicans who believe it can wait for the November election. “About 50 percent of the labor market’s extraordinary recent growth came from foreign-born workers between January 2023 and January 2024, according to an Economic Policy Institute analysis of federal data,” The Post reports. By the middle of 2022, rapid growth in the foreign-born labor force “closed the labor force gap created by the pandemic“. (…) digbysblog.net/2024/02/27/dirty-secret/

CBC got access to enrollment counts for international students. The picture being painted: foreign students are were being brought in by the truckloads by public colleges* possibly to make up for budget shortfalls as provincial governments continue to starve them of revenues www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/international-student-study-permits-data-1.7125827The Canadian government put a cap on the number of foreign students being permitted in Canada after it was realized there was an explosion that likely contributed to Canada's housing shortage Also, I'm not saying this is related but you do have to wonder when you see one college has more foreign students than most major universities... * in Canada, college is generally reserved for post-secondary institutions that are not authorized for 4-year degrees or higher.
