Talking to people stoned out of their mind, trying to provide them with basic tech support, is surreal. Like a mind trip within a mind trip.

I don't care for Cloverfield. While I like the second movie on its own, but as a project is is generally garbage. The first is just a found video, Godzilla like monster that shows up and destroys a city, the second is a strange survivalist scenario where a young girl gets kidnapped by this weirdo as it appears the world is under attack and the third, the Cloverfield Paradox, was done to explain the whole thing. That someone tried to build a massive particle accelerator in space to create unlimited energy, but just so happen to collapse the multiverse and a bunch of monsters and aliens showed up on earth.
The first is a mess - I think it was JJ Abrams first feature film and it is nauseating. Normally with the found video genre you have 'video' quality movie and sound based on the perspective of someone using a home video camera, shooting a home video and shit happens. I think the first one in the genre was the Blair Witch project and since there has been a plethora of movies, mostly horror. Abrams decided to make a godzilla type movie and the entire screen just shakes violently as the people runs away from the carnage. You're not a participator. You never feel intimate, just like someone on a roller coaster or running through a haunted house attraction with jump scare movement. It is awful since you're a spectator with the worst possible resolution. Like a shitty VHS copy.
The second is good. If I remember it correctly this young girl wakes up after an accident or something inside the survival bunker of this weirdo. There's another guy there too. It is explained as an end of the world pandemic situation and there's this virus, or poison cloud outside. The situation is bizarre. You're constantly wondering if the weirdo is right, at one point this plague looking woman walks up to the camera making you think something is going on, and on the other hand the weirdo is acting like a deranged kidnapper, especially when he kills off the other guy in this barrel of acid, making you think that he kidnapped them for some kind of breeding shit. But, luckily they made the woman resourceful instead of the typical scared horror victim. She manage to escape and first when she leaves she sees these birds flying in the sky that makes her believe it is all shit and there's no poison outside. So she takes her homemade breathing apparatus off. But then this monster shows up and she can see this flying ship in the distance and she has to fight for her life. There is no explanation to any of it, but there's no shaky camera and it feels like a well made movie in a crazy scenario.
The third movie is corny. It is not poorly made and it does tie things together a little. The first is the worst, the second should never have been associated with it, but I guess serve as an independent 'this shit is happening everywhere but doesn't explain the big monster' and the third is the 'Oups we collapsed the universe'.
I think it is bad because it just muddles everything into 'we borked the universe' with alien space crafts, tiny monsters, plague everywhere and a massive monster roaming the world.
This would've been better as a 'the mist' clone (if you remember the Stephen King movie). That one is a movie about this strange mist with strange creatures in it and someone talking about experiments going on in a nearby laboratory'. Basically meaning someone opened up a portal to some kind of different world and the creatures from this world are spilling in.
Cloverfield just mushes everything together. Cosmic horrors, tiny aliens, possibly demons. The Cabin in the Woods did it way better to explain how all those horrors exist in the same area. And the Mist don't perfectly explain it, but you get an idea what is going on. And that is why I don't care for JJ Abrams with his dumb subverting expectations and 'the box'. He just copy other people ideas and add more visual aspects too it. His Star wars movie; just the first 3 movies but with a bigger death star and more ships, but boring over all story.
Cloverfield, the mist with a first person super shaky story and as producer for the last movie - guess I have to explain the Mist but BIGGER.

That's unfair. The Japanese had as close to numerical parity as they could hope for by this stage of the war, they had locational advantage, and they were targeting what was legitimately the largest threat to their operations by this stage in the war. Sure, it ended in disaster but there was still logic to the gambit and it's not clear that there was a better option. Other than suing for peace but America was waiting for unconditional surrender A better comparison would be the last sailing of the Yamamoto AKA Operation Ten-Go. Why did the mission exist? Because the Army was getting glory in defending Okinawa and the Emperor implied that the Navy's honor was lacking so the Navy committed what little remained of its surface combat forces into a suicidal charge to Okinawa to then be turned into a fort. They didn't make it anywhere close to Okinawa. They left the shores of Kyushu at dawn and the Yamamoto was fatally crippled by 2:30

Possibly. There's more than a few physicists of speculated that the Big Bang is, actually, a white hole en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_holeIt's worth noting that at the event horizon, time is infinite for those inside it and that to the best of our knowledge, prior to the big bang, there was no time.

They left the shores of Kyushu at dawn and the Yamamoto was fatally crippled by 2:30 What I meant was the wave tactics. By the time the Japanese Navy launched their part of the attack from their remaining carriers, the Japanese airforce on the ground was already smashed. So when the Navy launched their parts, in what was suppose to be this two pronged overwhelming attack, only the Navy remained and it didn't have the parity and their airplanes were no longer the masters of the sky against the new Hellcat and corsair. What happened in that battle has to do with the lack of communication between the Navy and the Army. The Army never told the Navy that their part of the plan was fucked. So the Navy just sent wave, after wave of their planes thinking everything was a smashing success, just for the entire formations to be annihilated in the sky, or on the ground once the passed over the US fleet to land and then fly back, bomb more and go back to the fleet. in Ukraine we see something dumber for sure, the commanders KNOW that they are getting smashed and they keep sending in unit after unit in waves. In The Mariana Turkey shoot, the Japanese navy kept feeding defeat which smashed pretty much their remaining air force without realizing that it was destroyed, because the Army didn't tell them. That is what I meant. As for the battle of Leyte Gulf, it is true that the Navy basically sacrificed their remaining fleet in an attempt to smash the American fleet, but they didn't do it in broad daylight as a final charge of the light cavalry, they did try to do it early in the morning, not realizing that they were spotted. Their hope was that while one fleet engaged and distracted them, 3 other fleets would sneak up and pound them to bits. It wasn't a suicide charge as much as a desperate attempt to destroy US fleet - stupidly of course. The whole idea of an overcomplicated 3 pronged assault with a diversion by the only Japanese carrier was doomed to fail. Now an irony here is that what ended up as a sacrifice of the big boats, could have been a smashing success earlier in the war using cruisers and destroyers. When the Guadalcanal campaign was going on, a big cruiser group attacked the US landing zone and completely smashed the defending warships, but the Japanese admiral didn't want to press on, since light was coming on and he was afraid his force would be caught in daylight and hunted down by US carriers that had operated in the area. He was right of course; he couldn't know that US had retired their carrier force and didn't want to sacrifice his force. So ironically that was the moment to press on. But as Japan faced complete defeat, their idea of honor made them sacrifice their remaining fleet in a desperate foolish attempt. It should be noted that they more or less knew that there was no way for them to hide their fleet anymore. They had more or less lost their airforce and they didn't have many carriers left. And the big boats would get hunted and sunk as US was already lining up their bombers to pummel the home Islands. But still, ironic in the sense that the one opportunity they had, they decided to use sounds tactics to avoid defeat. And when there was no other options left, they threw away everything. I think the dumbest idea (that you mention) was to sacrifice Yamato as a unsinkable beach fortress. That was definitely a 'suicide' run, but the over all Leyte Gulf battle was nothing more then a final desperation. But fair enough.

There's more than a few physicists of speculated that the Big Bang is, actually, a white hole en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_holeIt's worth noting that at the event horizon, time is infinite for those inside it and that to the best of our knowledge, prior to the big bang, there was no time. It is an interesting idea, given that while some talk about a limitless universe, it is instead a mesh of bubbles of overlapping dimensions with a 'limit'. I' not smart enough to wrap my head around any of it. Personally I find the idea of a 'multiverse' boring (but it might exist) where each dimension is a copy of the other with a different outcome. So in one earth was defeated by Nazis in WW2, another earth was taken over by aliens etc. My preference (creative wise) is more a branching time line, where each 'change' in time, creates a branch of potential outcome from the main timeline. So basically a 'time jump' do not change time since time is always marching forward, but rather create an alternative. So there are no parallel dimensions per say, but rather events in the timeline that branches a version of the main time that goes forward on its own. If that makes sense. The idea of unlimited dimensions existing in parallel just leads to 'abuse' where there's little consequence to the overall time. And having just one timeline that everyone can fuck with leads to weird unrepairable damage to the time line.

Israel and Gaza are the ones under attack. Not US and not the drunkard that makes it all about herself and her dingbat friends. What happened with the Alphas and the can-do? These are just a bunch of spineless pant soilers.
There is a reason why none of these fucking losers never served or sacrificed anything. It is because they expect everyone else to dive in front of them as their brains fail upward.

Speaking of Israel acting like Russia; the Israeli government is now approving the shut down of Media they don't like because it is hurting their 'war effort'. You know, dissenting or telling people what is actually happening.
Also, as of yesterday it appears their current strategy is to pursue destroying Hamas over the potential rescue of hostages. Meanwhile the support to give Israel weapon is waning while support to give Palestinian aid is increasing in USA.

Trump ranting in the echoing hallways of our courts; Trump claims that if he was president the Hamas attack would never have happened, because Iran was behind it you see (our intelligence services do not seem to have any evidence of it, but WSJ rushed an article into print that pointed to it without any evidence so....). Trump says that Iran would never have done such a thing and further more, he'd make sure they had no nuclear weapons. You know, a deal with Iran. Something like an arrangement that ensured that they never developed a nuke or had the capability of doing so. I don't know, like a multilateral agreement that added an economic incentive along with perhaps inspections. Call it a Iran Nuclear Deal. Here's an example of how that would look if there was any political competence involved obamawhitehouse.archives.gov/issues/foreign-policy/iran-dealI'm sure Trumps version is him shaking his fist really hard. Or maybe him visiting them in the region and bowing before their generals. Maybe someone should tell him that we had such a deal and he cancelled it because he's a moron. But whatever.

Something really annoying is happening. Back at home I got youtube premier or I think it is called (or was called) red. So I don't get ads. At work I get ads.
And now I see tons of religious stuff slanted because of the conflict. I hate that blatant manipulation.
Not that I like ads for most part - but a movie trailer here and there isn't all bad.
